Consultations for the Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) Registration Project are now open as part of the broader Review of the Teacher Registration Act.  Stakeholders are invited to provide their feedback through multiple avenues.

How to Participate:

1.  Written Submissions to the Discussion Paper

  • The Discussion Paper is available to review.
  • The Discussion Paper includes a section specifically focusing on ECT registration.
  • Partial submissions are also welcome if representatives from the ECEC sector wish to respond only to the ECEC section of the Discussion Paper.

2. Anonymous Survey

  • You can submit responses to the questions in the Discussion Paper by accessing the online survey.

3. Consultation with Children and Young People

  • The guidelines for adults supporting consultation include a section for children aged 0-5.
  • You are invited to use these guidelines to facilitate consultation with young children in your services.

4. Targeted Face-to-Face Online Sessions

  • As part of the public consultation for the Teacher Registration Act Review, the Education and Care Unit will facilitate targeted consultation sessions with the sector.
  • These sessions, including consultation with children, will collect collective sector views to inform the “What We Heard” report.
