The ECU are inviting expressions of interest from individuals interested in becoming a member of the Education and Care Unit Stakeholder Reference Group (ECU SRG).

The ECU SRG

The ECU SRG is a reference group that provides advice to inform the work of the Education and Care Unit (ECU) of the Department for Education, Children and Young People, as the regulatory authority for Tasmanian education and care (child care) services.

The ECU SRG’s members provide expert advice to the ECU about the operation and context of education and care and child care services across Tasmania on matters that are affecting educators, services, and communities in Tasmania. Members provide advice and feedback on how to support outcomes for children through early and middle childhood and assist in identifying issues and opportunities that have the potential to affect the sector or outcomes for children.

The ECU and ECU SRG members work collaboratively with the purpose of achieving positive outcomes for Tasmanian children.

The ECU SRG members include organisation members and individual members.  For more information about the ECU SRG and the responsibilities of individual members please refer to the ECU SRG Terms of Reference and information about the SRG on the ECU website.

Vacancies

The ECU SRG has four vacancies for individual members belonging to the following community or sector cohorts:

  • Parent / Family
  • Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) sector
  • Long Day Care (LDC) sector
  • Out-of-scope (licensed) services

Expressions of Interest

The ECU are seeking expressions of interest from individuals that believe they would be able to provide advice, input and perspectives based on their individual expertise and lived experience as a member of one of the following cohorts;

  • Parent / Family
  • Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) sector
  • Long Day Care (LDC) sector
  • Out-of-scope (licensed) services

If you would like to express interest in being appointed as an individual member of the ECU SRG, please express interest by submitting your completed expression of interest form by email to ecu.comment@decyp.tas.gov.au by close of business on Friday 20th August.

Appointment process

The ECU will consider all expressions of interest received for each cohort.  Information in the expression of interest will be considered and appointments made based on responses provided.  ECU SRG individual members will be appointed for an initial term of up to three years.
