May 4, 2021

You can contribute to the development of the National Children’s Education and Care Workforce Strategy.  The consultation period will run throughout May 2021.

Governments recognise the significant and complex issues facing the sector in relation to the attraction, supply and retention of staff and agreed that a new Strategy should be developed.  It will seek to address issues over a ten-year period (2021-30).

The Strategy is being designed as a joint partnership between governments, the children’s education and care sector and other key stakeholders.

Initial consultation with national sector stakeholders and governments identified potential actions and initiatives that could be implemented across the following inter-related focus areas.

Feedback is now being sought about the level of support and priorities for these actions and initiatives from the broader sector.
